Charles Barkley born Charles Wade Barkley is a renowned American professional basketball player and television personality who plays in the power forward position.

He is a notable NBA icon as he became the fourth player to amass 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists during his 16-year NBA career.

Barkley was an amateur high school basketball player until a 6-inch growth helped him become one of the best players in Alabama during his senior years.

Subsequently, he earned a scholarship to Auburn University where he was picked by the Philadelphia 76ers with the fifth overall pick of the NBA draft in 1984.

However, his height was very undersized for a forward, but his great leaping ability and his skill at establishing position around the basket using his considerate strength quickly made him one of the best rebounders in the game.
