She was an anchor on Al Jazeera English and was previously an anchor for Al Jazeera America.
Carey was previously a news anchor for HLN and correspondent for its Prime News broadcast, from May 2006 to June 2013; she joined HLN from KMOV-TVSt.

Richelle Carey was born in Houston, Texas, on October 13, 1971.
Carey's mother is a nurse who works with teenagers in poverty-stricken neighborhoods.[1] She first attended Smith College but later graduated from Baylor University in her native Texas, where she earned a bachelor's degree in telecommunications.[1][2]
Career
Carey started her television career as an intern at KPRC-TV in Houston, Texas.
